Al K. Ajello

Al Ajello is a novelist, story teller, devoted husband, and hockey dad who resides in northern Bergen County, NJ. Al enjoys writing suspense ridden dark comedies that focus on characters on the edge. Al’s objective is to produce highly personal stories that are engaging, entertaining and easily readable, yet gritty, brutally honest, and socially relevant. Al aspires to compare his work to that of story tellers Hubert Selby, Jr., E. B. Sledge, and Darren Aronofsky.

Al is published author of both fiction and non-fictional works. He has won the grand prize of the On the Water Magazine Fiction Contest in 2009 for his short story BLUE MARLIN, and in 2011 for his short story entitled MY LAKE. In addition, he is a regular contributor to On The Water Magazine. His non-fiction articles have been featured in the August and December 2012 editions, and in the April 2013 edition. His latest article was featured in the May 2013 issue.

When he is not writing a novel, short story, or article, he is playing guitar. Al writes, composes, and records his own original brand of suburban sludge-core heavy metal music. When his fingers are sore from all this this typing and guitar playing he can usually be found skulking the shores of some mosquito infested puddle chasing bass.
